Doug's concerns about lee side sink are realized over the White Mountains. They are in severe mountain rotor waves and cannot hold altitude. Doug has trouble getting the controller's attention but they eventually get a 1,000' block. Doug then coaches Billy on how best to handle these waves as they go from sink to lift and back to sink. They expand the block to 1,500' before conditions improve.
